Automated Crash and Error Diagnostics

The AudioMap desktop application includes automated crash and error reporting to help us identify and fix bugs. When you have given consent to anonymous analytics (via the consent dialog shown on first launch), the application may upload diagnostic data after an unexpected crash or error.

What is collected:

Stack traces and exception details from the crash
Operating system version and basic hardware details (e.g. Mac model, available memory)
AudioMap version and build identifier
A short trail of recent application events ("breadcrumbs") leading up to the crash
Crash time and frequency
File path information referenced by the crash, which may incidentally include your operating-system username

What is not collected:

Audio data, recordings, or measurements
Contents of your project files or saved sessions
Your email address or account information (unless you choose to attach it via a support request)
Free-text input you have typed into the application

Crash diagnostics are processed by Functional Software, Inc., d/b/a Sentry, our error-tracking provider, with data hosted in the United States. Reports are retained for a limited period (typically 30 to 90 days) and are deleted automatically thereafter.

If you decline analytics consent, crashes are not uploaded — diagnostic data stays on your local machine. You can change your consent at any time from within the application's preferences. Withdrawing consent stops all future uploads; previously uploaded reports can be deleted on request by emailing privacy@audiomap.io.
